Những lượng từ chỉ dùng với danh từ đếm được số nhiều:

1. We don't get many tourists here.

2. Hold on with both hands.

3. We've invited a few friends to dinner.

4. I get several letters a week.

5. I take fewer trips abroad these days.

6. So few people attended.

* Lưu ý: "Few" có nghĩa phủ định, hầu như là không có. "A few" là một ít, nhiều hơn "few"

Những lượng từ chỉ dùng với danh từ không đếm được:

1. Will it take much time?

2. Add a little sugar.

3. I had less money than I thought.

4. We get so little in this room.

* Lưu ý: Cũng giống như "few", "little" cũng có nghĩa phủ định, rất ít, hầu như không có, nhưng ở đây little chỉ dùng cho danh từ không đếm được. "A little" là một ít, nhiều hơn "little".

Những lượng từ dùng cho cả danh từ số nhiều đếm được và danh từ không đếm được:

Danh từ đếm được:

1. Hans has got more bags than me.

2. Most items of jewerllery are made from gold.

3. All children should recieve education.

4. Do you have enough clothes?

5. He left no instructions.

Danh từ không đếm được:

1. Hans has got more luggage than me.

2. Most gold is used to make jewerllery.

3. All meat is rich in protein.

4. We don't have enough furniture.

5. There's no ice in the fridge.

Những lượng từ dùng cho danh từ đếm được số ít:

1. He checked each document carefully.

2. Every child needs affection.

Dùng "of" khi giữa 2 lượng từ khi một lượng từ theo sau lượng từ khác (như this, the):

1. Take some bread.

2. Take some of the bread.

Every và No không dùng với "of" mà thay vào đó là "everyone of" hoặc "none of":

1. Every tree is marked with a cross.

2. We have no accurate information.

3. Every one of the young trees is marked with a cross.

4. None of this information is accurate.
